CityStory Denver

Five Languages

A man and woman walking down a street in Denver with houses behind them.

My block speaks at least five languages.

Spanish from my grandmother’s porch.

Vietnamese from next door.

English from the kids playing basketball.

Arabic from the corner store owner.

Music from every car that drives past.

People talk about diversity like it’s a statistic, but to me, it just sounds like home.
